This is the occasional blog of the “very occasional” piscatorial escapades of a vintage book selling, angling Luddite. With muddy boots firmly planted in the East Devon area my ramblings are mainly concentrated along the banks of the Rivers Culm and Exe, together with a few secluded reed fringed pools. There will be much talk of creaking split cane rods, reels from Noah’s Ark, forgotten boots and forgotten landing nets (though they usually stay dry anyway!)
As well as being an angler that enjoys fishing with old tackle; I am also a seller of vintage and preloved country sports and country living related items. I have become a junk shop trawler. It’s an addiction. The cure I believe, is yet to be found. So I cast my nets at boot sales, sharpen my elbows in readiness for a jumble sale, and even check out any skip that I may be passing. All in a good cause; to rescue those thrown away treasures. To resurrect them and either put them on a shelf or wall to enjoy; or to find them loving new homes.
You may find some of these treasures in my Etsy shop Foxed Finds. For there I have a selection of items to tempt you.
Hopefully my meanderings will put a smile upon your face. After all; isn’t that what life is all about.
